Hello, world! I know that this a bit of cliché, but this is how clichés appeared from the start, right? I am Tammy Broccas and I love writing down my ideas and sharing them with those who are willing to spend a few moments reading. I consider myself a regular person that enjoys the small joys life has to offer, like taking small walks and enjoying the singing of the birds, watching the sun rise and fall, enjoying good food with my friends, and taking any opportunity that comes my way to see and explore the world.
I also see myself as a practical person. For me, time is short and precious, so I do my best not to waste it. Of course, we all need to relax, rest, and unwind now and then, and I do love to watch a good movie from time to time, but I do my best to make good use of my time. I know that some don’t see writing as a valuable way of spending their time, but for me, it is a way to stay connected with the world. But, enough about work and let me tell you more about the things I like to do when I am not working.
The world we live in fascinates me and I believe that there are so many amazing places to visit, things to see, and cultures to experience, including local cuisines. I believe that memories are the most important treasure you can gather in a lifetime and traveling is one of the best ways to accumulate memories. So, I do my best to travel as often as possible and add new memories to my lifeline. I love visiting old places that can tell stories, places that have a history behind them. There’s a certain energy in these old corners of the world, it’s like you can almost feel and see how life took place there, and it is easier to imagine what stories are teaching us. One of my habits, when visiting a new place, is to try the foods that are specific to that area. Whether it’s about going to the local market in search for fruits I never tried before or having dinner at a restaurant, I will always want to try something new, something different, something that will represent the area in the best way possible.
I also love spending time in the outdoors, seeing and witnessing nature’s own creations. It is comfortable to live in a city, but I also find it stressful and tiring. So, eloping somewhere far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, protected only by the thick forest and, if possible, mountainous peaks is one of my favorite ways to recharge my batteries and replenish my reserves of positive energy. Nature is a great place to reconnect with yourself, be grateful for what you have, and realize that life is much more than just having the latest smartphone or driving an expensive car. As you can imagine, I am taking a lot of photos, of everything that impresses me. So, I have a large personal collection of photographs taken from all the places I’ve visited. This is my way to make sure that my mind won’t forget all the incredible images my eyes had the chance to see.
Cooking is, occasionally, one of the activities I enjoy doing in my spare time. I like cooking for my friends and family, the biggest reward, in this case, is to see them enjoying my food. I don’t know why but this gives me a great sense of satisfaction, so I always do my best to cook something delicious when I’m having guests over.
Questions that will help us connect better
What did you do before writing?
I had a rather boring job in a company that was both stressful and unsatisfactory. I always loved reading and writing, so, at one point, the “what if…?” question popped into my mind. What if I started writing and try to make a living out of it? So, I started by doing this on the side, as I wasn’t too confident in leaving my job, out of obvious reasons. But, things worked out just well for me, after depositing a lot of hard work and dedication, of course.
How do you find the topics you write about?
As I said earlier, I love reading as well and when I come across an interesting topic, I do some more research and start writing about it as soon as ideas are flowing in. In some cases, I get inspired by my everyday life, situations we all face sooner or later, and welcome ideas from any directions they may be coming.
Have you considered changing your activity, like travel blogging for example?
Well, I love keeping my opinions open and if life will set me on the right path toward this, then there are high chances that I will embrace it. While many make plans, I like going with the flow and see what life has for me. Up until now, everything worked out very well, so I am curious to see where life is taking me. So, although I love seeing new places and enjoying new experiences, travel blogging is not something that appeared on my horizon at the moment. But, who knows, maybe one day…
